Running a business that focuses on couture-level floral designs for discerning clients is always full of adventure. I consider myself lucky to have a job that creatively challenges me on a daily basis. More often than not, I find myself excited as I look through the list of inquiries that come into us each day. My brain goes through the following list:
I thought Iโd share a bit of insight into our process here at Foliage Floral Design Studio to bring you into the โstudioโ a bit today.
My favorite part about a new inquiry is reaching back out to the potential client in order to get details on what floral elements theyโre needing help with. When their flower design wants and needs come back in, my creative wheels start churning, thinking of all the potential floral design solutions for their โproblemโ.
Basically, Iโm a creative problem solver with a toolbox full of flowers. Need help? ๐ Give us a call!
Planning a successful event requires a lot of moving parts, various vendors, and a multitude of resources. Offering our expertise as floral designers to our clients is more than just a way to add color to an event. Itโs a way for us to be able to help you take an often HUGE part of the planning process off of your plate.
If this list is making the back of your neck get tense, that means it’s far more than you should be dealing with as you are planning your event. This is exactly what I created this business for: to help busy people find an easy solution to stunning floral designs for their hotel floral needs, corporate events, or whatever else it is you may be planning.
When you decide to bring in outside help in order to make your overall process more streamlined, more simple and more successful. More often than not, a project’s budget can be utilized in an efficient way once an expert is brought in to help.
Sometimes, trying to “do all the things” isn’t the best solution for you. That’s where we come in!
I’m a huge fan of talking about budgets early on so that I can manage expectations for our clients and provide transparency throughout. We have systems in place behind the scenes that allow us to quickly look at a client’s needs, calculate pricing and send over a summarized rough quote within a few days, sometimes even a few hours, so clients can easily see if we might be a good fit for their floral needs.
When we provide a final quote to a client, we make it standard practice not to raise the quote at any point throughout the process.
The only exception to this is: if the client themselves add more floral elements to the project after the initial quote was accepted.
Finding creative ways to do as much as possible within a budget is another one of my favorite parts of my planning process. Yes, we could do a small arrangement on 100 tables. However, we could instead do bud vases and have enough in the budget for an installation piece that would really have an impact!
Being kind and helpful humans is one of our Core Values here at Foliage Floral Design Studio. I’m truly passionate about providing a top-tier, white-glove experience for all of our clients. Choosing which potential clients to work with is important to us! We don’t just see an inquiry and book it. Here’s a quick peek at our inquiry process:
This always opens us up to having room for those clients that we are a great fit for, rather than spreading our focus & energy thin and wide. When we see an opportunity for our floral design services to be of help, in a way that aligns with the services we provide, we get SO very excited. Because for us, helping = a chance to make a positive impact on a space, and the people in it, through floral design. And ultimately, that’s the why behind the work for me!
