When clients first inquire with us about their weddings, we ask if they have a color palette in mind for their wedding. I would guess that about 75% of the time, clients tell us that they’ve chosen a white and green palette, with mainly or all white flowers and added greenery.
For that very reason, today we have a lot of ideas for you on how to make a classic wedding flower color theme look uniquely you still!
There are loads of choices when it comes to white flowers. Here are some of our personal favorites:
delphiniums
white orchids
lilies (though they have a strong aroma that some don’t like)
white garden roses
white peonies
lilies of the valley
white foxgloves
gerbera daisies
stephanotis
the list of white fresh cut flowers goes on!
With so many options on which flowers to use, your florist is able to really take your personal style and the overall aesthetic of your wedding day into account. You can go with an all white roses look for that super elegant and sleek vibe, or you could use a variety of eye catching white flowers in different shapes to give a garden style feel to your floral designs.
You can also utilize preserved or bleached florals and grasses to incorporate that neutral color palette, white adding a different kind of textural interest to the overall look of your day. Large fronds of pampas grass, bleached ferns or monstera leaves, all of these are excellent ways to add a bit of boho interest to your white florals.
That white bridal bouquet look doesn’t have to mean that you use all snow white toned florals in your arrangements. There are stunning neutral palettes that bring in dusty rose and blush tones as well as light taupes and creams. Palettes such as this add interest without bringing in bright colors.
Here are some stunning examples of neutral color palettes that would look amazing for your wedding flowers.
Using white flowers at weddings doesn’t have to limited to a certain season. A fall wedding can be just as stunning with a neutral palette as a spring or summer one. Winter events can easily incorporate a more snowy white palette, creating stunning seasonal florals.
As I mentioned earlier, using preserved and dried flowers is also a great idea on how to create a more boho/relaxed vibe for your wedding no matter which season it is. Many stunning grasses are available in light tones and add texture and interest to the overall style of your wedding.
