COLOR PALETTE: N. THE RANGE OF COLORS USED IN A VISUAL MEDIUM, IN A PICTURE, OR IN THIS CASE A WEDDING!
“Inspired by your personal preferences and your event’s seasonality and location, the wedding color palette you settle on will help drive the visual components of your day and ensure everything looks on-theme and cohesive—which is why selecting your colors should be one of the first décor-related decisions you make. After all, understanding your color vision will make floral, linen, and rental decisions significantly easier.” MarthaStewart.com

When you’re planning your wedding flowers, the beautiful thing with working with a florist is the fact that they are there specifically to create that for you! Seriously. That’s 100% one of my favorite part of beginning a new project!
So, if the idea of choosing color combos and creating an aesthetic stresses you out, don’t worry!!!! We are literally here to help with that.
However, if you are the type of person that loves doing this detailed sort of planning that is also amazing and wonderful! Wedding planning is a dream for some and stress inducing for others. So for those of you that LOVE the planning, we have some tips and tricks here for you.
So let’s talk for a second about how to choose colors for your wedding flowers. Color choices are one of the quickest ways to create a mood or vibe for your event. We’ve gotten together some great resources to help you begin your planning:
Zola.com has a great resource for you as your planning your colors.
We love to let people know about Design Seed and their amazing collection of ready to use color palettes!
Try googling “romantic color palettes” or “charming color palettes” and see what comes up! Loads of pre-made palettes will pop up for you from pinterest, and often lead you back over to Design Seeds.
Lots of couples naturally navigate towards their favorite colors as they are deciding which colors to use in their floral arrangements. This is a great place to begin! You can also think of a theme and go from there! Here a few other themes you could focus on the help you find your wedding color palette:
spring wedding colors
winter wedding colors
romantic colors
cheerful outdoor wedding
relaxed beach vibes
boho wedding style
English garden wedding style
the list goes on!
So spend a little bit of time thinking about what the “theme” or vibe of your day is going to be. Think about your own personal style. This is a great place to begin! From there, you can take to pinterest or Design Seeds to look for colors that go well with these vibes.
Do you tend to be a classic dresser or more avant garde? Are you a jeans with heels type person in your day to day life? Perhaps you want to be more romantic for your big day.
The good news here is that whatever your own personal choice for your theme or vibe, that’s perfect! For example, in the image above all the women are exuding personal style in their choices. It’s a united look, though, since they’ve all chosen neutral tones of white, cream and taupe to wear. Their color palette choice brings together the overall look in front of that stunning, bright background.
Let’s go from there and create some beautiful things for your wedding!
