As we continue on in our series of blog posts answering all the questions Brides.com suggests you ask your florist, we’re diving into their questions regarding aesthetic and style. Here we go! Hope this is helpful!
How would you describe your design style? (e.g. traditional, modern, rustic, organic)
Our design style is organic, lush, romantic. We love big, full-petaled blooms for bouquets and lush overflowing styles for urns & arrangements.
Based on my wedding style and budget, what set of floral arrangements would I need?
It’s hard to know this unless we’ve seen your actual inquiry, which you can submit here!
Which flowers would you recommend based on the time of year/season, color palette, and budget?
We have a wonderful resource for you for this. Click here to see our seasonal flowers guide.
Are you able to provide organic, pesticide-free, or sustainably grown flower varieties?
Whenever possible, we use flowers from local flower farms, grown in ways that are sustainable.
During the growing seasons, we use as many flowers as possible from our own Cutting Garden. These are grown organically and pesticide-free, but aren’t available year-round cause…Mother Nature. 🙂
Which flowers can be substituted to better fit my budget?
Your budget doesn’t dictate the flower varieties that we choose as much as the amount of floral pieces we can create for you on the day. See more about that here.
If I give you a picture of a bouquet and/or centerpiece that I like, can you recreate it?
Creating an exact replica is difficult. As florists, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature. If flowers aren’t in season but are in your picture, then we substitute for something similar. We recommend couples look at photos as inspiration, not replication opportunities. Your wedding is unique to you! So let’s use those photos as inspiration for your day, not as a piece to photocopy into your event.
What types of vases do you suggest? And do I rent the vases from you or do I get to keep them?
We suggest vases that are simple and sturdy enough to let your flowers shine! It’s not about the vase, after all, is it?
We have a variety of vase choices for clients to choose from if they decide to rent them from us. They vary from classic glass vases to neutral toned ceramics that all align with our overall aesthetic.
What other décor elements can you provide (aisle runner, candelabras, trees, chuppah, votives, mirrors, etc.)? Are these rental items? How will these items affect the overall cost?
We have a variety of other items available to rent. These include candles, archways, houseplants and more. They are available at a standard rental rate, and are not built into the cost of the floral arrangements or services.
Can you create sample arrangements before I sign the contract? If so, is there an additional fee for this?
We offer sample arrangements only after the project is booked and approximately 6-8 weeks before the event. This is so that the flowers we use are as similar as possible to what will be available to us the week of your event.
There is a fee of $250 for a sample arrangement.
Will you work with my cake designer if I decide to add flowers to my wedding cake? If so, is there an additional setup fee for this?
We always contact the other vendors you’re working with to coordinate things such as cake flowers, photography, etc. There’s no additional set up fee to this. It’s built in to the invoice under on-site setup & labor fees.
What color lighting would you recommend based on flowers and color scheme?
We always tell clients not to underestimate the power of candlelight! It adds romance and beauty to your event instantly and is quite cost-effective overall.
Can you assist me in the preservation of my bouquet after the wedding? If not, can you recommend someone?
We don’t currently offer bouquet preservation as a service. If you’d like this done, we are more than happy to recommend some qualified florists.
Ok, we think this is probably enough info for today, so we’ll finish up the rest of the Brides.com questions next time!
